winter is the best time because you want to transplant it when it is dormant to minimize transplant shock. the range is from mid fall to early spring with winter being the best time

Reply:I disagree with the idea of %26#039;spring%26#039; being the best time. It depends on where you live, but usually fall is best. In the spring you get a lot of top growth, but in the fall you will get root development - which is best long term for your plants.





If you are buying them purchase them while in bloom, so that you are certain of the color.
